I gave in and jumped into the lions mouth
Where the needles and bottles tore down my rotting self
First I was made numb and the pain seemed so small
Then it drove me to slice just to feel at all
I tried bowing to your king but was cast to the pit
So I know now first-hand his promises mean shit

The false king failed me, I had lost the last bout
Seemed like the mouth of the lion was my only way out

You closed the lion’s mouth being as a human shield
You dragged me from that pit onto the path of the healed
So I’ll walk this path, I will carry on
From the mouth of the lion into the arms of the Son
